This is an awesome game that can be used all through K-6.
It is a great way to differentiate the program.
You will need counters and a dice to use this Y Chart.
An example: You can give a child 10 counters (obviously more advanced students will use higher numbers). You put ten counters in the top of the Y Chart. Roll the dice (say it lands on 4). If you are teaching addition it would be 10 + 4 (children move 4 counters to the left column and count the remaining ones on the top which gives them the answer 6). They write the equation on the right-hand side of column 10 + 4 = 14.
This can also be used for Subtraction.
You can also print and laminate these so students can use it again and again.
A great way for children to learn to subtract and add.
I have been using this game for years in my classroom.
It can also be printed and used as a worksheet for bookwork.
